A PECULIAR DAY IN CONEY ISLAND This is the second printing of A Peculiar Day in Coney Island. The first printing was released six years ago this fall in a small run of sixty. This time around two hundred copies were printed and hand bound. Each copy is hand numbered by the author, Justin Schlosberg, and myself, the primary illustrator. This is a completely self published children's book. From the cover, to the binding, to the stamping of the spine, the whole process was created by hand by me. Justin and Ninio Gabashvili contributed to a few of the illustrations in the book. SYNOPSIS A Peculiar Day in Coney Island is a "children's book" for children ages 4 to 95. WARNING: MAY NOT BE APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN. Eight year old Billy and his mother go to Coney Island one pleasant day, and strange events ensue. After Billy's mother reprimands Billy and takes him back home, Billy decides to steal away back to Coney Island that evening and prove to his mother that he's not a little kid anymore. But somewhere he loses his way, and meets up with a balloon pirate, Mysterioso and other assorted carnies. This group of eccentrics takes it upon themselves to show Billy what adulthood can really be like.
